We Are Proud Winners of the Workforce Planning Award

We are proud to announce that we’ve won the Workforce Planning Award at the 2025 Supply Chain Excellence Awards. This milestone truly reflects how far we have come on our people journey.

In the last five years, we have been looking to create a workplace where people can thrive and achieve their goals. We have always known that our power lies in our people, and being recognised really reflects the progress we have made in turning the investment, enthusiasm and teamwork into action.

Our entry discussed our People Strategy and how we have built a sustainable platform for growth, created incredible teams and strengthened our ‘One HT’ culture, which is a culture that celebrates individuality, encourages collaboration, and supports every colleague to reach their potential.

Building a Sustainable Platform for Growth

Our first priority was to ensure we gave our managers the tools to have the confidence and consistency to lead effectively and in line with our values of being Connected, Supportive, Progressive, and Resilient. This foundation has helped us nurture strong, capable leaders who can guide their teams with clarity and care.

With that foundation in place, our focus turned to developing exceptional teams and career opportunities for everyone.

We created clear career journeys and job descriptions for every role in the business, defining both technical and behavioural competencies. This clarity gives every colleague a transparent view of how they can grow and what success looks like in their role.

To support this, we invested in a new HRIS platform that’s transforming how we manage learning, performance and workforce planning. It enables smarter, data-driven decisions and ensures development plans are tailored to individual and business goals.

We’ve also strengthened early-career engagement, partnering with schools and expanding our apprenticeship programme, welcoming 10 new apprentices who are thriving in their roles and inspiring others to explore opportunities in logistics.

A ‘One HT’ Culture

As a proud, family-owned business, we’ve built on our heritage to create a culture that’s inclusive, values-driven and future-focused. From our High-Performance Leadership Programme to management development courses and an expanding apprenticeship scheme, we’re investing in our people at every level.

 

Delivery

Our commitment to our people is delivering lasting impact. Employee turnover has more than halved, and engagement scores continue to rise, reflecting the pride and sense of belonging our colleagues feel.
