Our Truck Show Team
Our Truck Show Team Wraps Up a Standout Season on the Road
From Malvern to Newark, our drivers have proudly flown the Howard Tenens flag across the UK truck shows, bringing home awards and showing the passion that drives us forward.
This summer, our truck show team represented the business at some of the UK’s biggest and most exciting truck festivals. From Truckfest West Midlands in Malvern through to Truckfest South East, South West, the Retro Truck Show in Gaydon, and finally, Truckfest Original in Newark, our vehicles have shone, and so have our people.
The line-up has featured some of our most iconic fleet, including:
- T5 NEN
- T6 NEN
- BK74 YOC
- BV25 AVG
- B3 HTG Multicar
Each one was prepared, polished, and proudly presented by the dedicated drivers who make up the team.
Awards, Recognition, and Teamwork
Our team has had its fair share of challenges along the way, from challenging weather to a couple of mechanical setbacks. The team has shown resilience throughout, and the results speak for themselves.
- Highly Commended for the Multicar (Truckfest West Midlands)
- Runner-Up for T5 NEN (Truckfest South East)
- Second Place in the Vintage Category (Truckfest South West)
- First place in the Truck Pull Challenge, hauling an 8.5-tonne truck 20 metres in just 12.5 seconds
What really stands out is the teamwork. Drivers Chris “Chef” Pollock, Andy “Fella” Way, Thomas “Tom Tom” Pearce, and James Hay, joined by other guest drivers along the way. They have put in countless hours cleaning, maintaining, and representing our vehicles. Their continued efforts reflect our values: Connected, Supportive, Progressive, Resilient.
The Truck Pull Challenge
One of the biggest highlights of this year’s shows was the Truck Pull Challenge, which happened across many of the truck shows. Three team members harness themselves to an 8.5-tonne tractor unit and race to pull it 20 metres.
At Truckfest South West, our drivers not only competed but won, achieving a great time of 12.50 seconds. We were also proud to volunteer our T5NEN truck for the pull when there was a last-minute change of plans. Our show team displayed great determination, teamwork, and grit, the same qualities that keep our logistics operations running smoothly every day.
Why It Matters to Us
Truck shows provide us with an opportunity to showcase our team members and celebrate them publicly. Our truck show team have incredible skills and talent. The UK Truck Shows enable our team to take pride in delivering to the highest standards, and we are proud to provide them with that opportunity.
Events like this enable us to connect with the logistics and transport community. We can share our story and reaffirm why and how we are a quality-focused, independent family business that delivers mutual value through great people, collaboration, and technology.
“As we wrap up this year’s show season, I want to take a moment to recognise and thank the Show Driving Team, the GDMI team, and everyone who played a part in making it such a success.
Your commitment, professionalism, and teamwork have been outstanding from start to finish, ensuring every event ran safely, smoothly, and to the high standards we’re known for. From the early planning and preparation through to execution on the ground, your efforts have showcased not only our capability but our passion and pride in what we do.
It’s been a fantastic team effort, and a true demonstration of being connected and supportive across the business. Thank you for your energy, dedication, and for representing us so brilliantly throughout the season.
Well done and thank you all!” – Jason Moscrop, Group Logistics and Supply Chain Director
