Howard Tenens Logistics Installs Controlled Environment for Confectionary Storage Solution.

Howard Tenens Logistics depot in Ashby de la Zouch have recently undergone a transformation in their warehousing facility. Working alongside Chillaire, a controlled environment solution was installed via an air handling unit and floor to ceiling curtains at entry points. This solution has ensured stock can be stored within a set temperature and humidity parameter, prior to transportation to their final destination.

The target was to ensure humidity levels remained under an upper limit of 70%, which led to the extension of the installation project to include a dehumidifier. This would help provide the ideal warehousing and storage conditions desired via a self-contained, fully automatic operation, with the sole purpose of controlling the environment to meet the customer’s requirements.

To maintain a constant temperature, ducted heat pump air conditioning split systems were installed, each providing our warehouses with 25KW of cooling and heating capability to maintain a constant temperature.

‘As a business Howard Tenens have a long history of having the ability to move quickly to deliver solutions for customers through both collaboration and solution design. Team Ashby was challenged by a customer to develop a solution that ensured the site had the capability to store product within a temperature and humidity-controlled environment, thus ensuring product quality. This challenge was accepted by the Howard Tenens team and in conjunction with Chillaire has now been delivered on budget, in time and more importantly as promised.’ -Jason Moscrop, Operations Director

The whole project from concept to installation took five months, with the installation process taking less than two weeks in total. This ensured delivery of our promise to provide our clients with high quality, tailor-made logistics solutions that are suitable for our client’s business’ goals.
