Established in 1953, Peter’s father, Edward Charles Morris (Ted) sold his business, Create More Work (CMW) to Howard Tenens, a shipbrokers in London set up by 3 old Etonians led by Howard Foster and was given a shareholding, CMW specialised in packing and timber case manufacturing. The company was called Howard Tenens Services Ltd and was mainly involved in providing services to the British Motor Industry. It became a PLC in 1966.
Peter Morris, Howard Tenens Chairman, started working for Howard Tenens in 1958 aged 14. By 1968 he had become Commercial Director and was Group MD by 1979. Peter headed a management buy-out in 1983 and has grown Howard Tenens into the financially stable and successful business it is today. The company has since then expanded greatly and acquired many additional sites across the UK. Peter’s sons, Dan Morris and Ben Morris are now also involved in the business.
