Howard Tenens Wins CSR Award

Howard Tenens are delighted to announce that we have won the CSR category of the Gloucestershire Business Awards.
The winners were announced at the Awards Dinner at The Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse on Thursday evening 8th October 2009, attended by some 640 people from around the county.

The judges’ comments stated that “from top to bottom Howard Tenens prove a keenness to make CSR a reality and have a strong involvement in the community.” The award entry summarised how Howard Tenens corporate social responsibility benefited the environment, the local community, our customers and our employees. In managing our supply chain we actively seek to build long term relationships and partnerships to create open and collaborative forms of working that deliver tangible benefits for all.

Howard Tenens regards balancing the Company’s economic sustainability alongside its social and environmental responsibilities as a key part of its business objectives. Howard Tenens has made a commitment to assist all customers to reduce the carbon footprint of storing, handling and transporting their products.

In June 2008 Tenens Environmental was set up with the specific remit to focus on initiatives that reduce energy consumption. Extensive research was embarked upon and significant investment is being made in technologies that utilise alternative sources of energy that deliver environmental, social and economic benefits.

Catherine Crouch who heads up Tenens Environmental said, “We will continue to review all new vehicle, waste and environmental technology as it becomes available and adopt where advantageous. This award recognises the investment we have embarked upon as a Company spearheading Howard Tenens to the forefront of developments within the Logistics Industry.”
