Howard Tenens experience in providing supply chain management services has been proven for over 40 years.
Their expertise covers businesses in manufacturing, retailing and importing. In fulfilling the role of a supply chain partner to their customers they place the highest priority in providing efficient services through each and every stage.
Howard Tenens pride for innovative logistics solutions for both warehousing and distribution services is supported by management integrated control systems. They are also highly experienced in property management due to the freehold ownership of over 2½ million ft² of industrial buildings throughout the UK.
Howard Tenens is one of the region’s leading warehouse and distribution companies and they have continued to expand their facilities, now operating from 10 locations across the country.
Howard Tenens continues to adapt to customers’ requirements in order to maintain its success. They have found that clients are not prepared or are unable to commit to long-term restrictive contracts and therefore Howard Tenens has delivered flexible, proactive and cost effective solutions. This has been made easier due to the private ownership of the Group, as well as the freehold ownership of the majority of its operating centres. In addition the ability to provide cost efficient, good quality accommodation on flexible terms is very attractive to potential clients.
Howard Tenens acquired the British Gypsum production facility at Sharpness Gloucestershire in 1999.
The success of Sharpness as a location has been based on the availability of a loyal, conscientious and reliable work force in the immediate surroundings and its proximity to the UK motorway network via junction 13 (Northbound) and junction 14 (Southbound) of the M5. In addition the lack of congestion at any time of the day has been a major selling point as similar estates in Avonmouth and Gloucester are becoming more and more difficult to access in peak periods.
The facility has become one of the most important logistic centres in Gloucestershire and indeed the south-west. There are very few sites which would be able to accommodate a single footprint building of 500,000 ft² or more.
The site is currently being marketed as one of the most important strategic locations for a warehouse and distribution operator wishing to service South Birmingham, the M4 corridor and the south-west.
A further advantage of the Sharpness site is that it is already established as a centre for distribution with an existing infrastructure of security, maintenance and administration in place, and therefore there are opportunities for potential clients to commence an operation from the facility whilst the purpose built building is constructed.
The site has a varied existing client base including Hotpoint, WH Malcolm, Polyvine, Kerrys Ingredients, Inbev Brewery, Averys Wines and the Highways Agency. They provide conventional warehousing and distribution alongside container destuffing, repack, added value services and fully serviced tenanted units. The company is happy to accommodate from 1 to 10000 pallets and have a full WMS service to ensure stock integrity and reporting. They also have the option of providing bonded services.
