Howard Tenens and The Port of Boston continue to work together to improve efficiencies between the supply chain for forest products from the continent. The Port of Boston were able to offer Palm an alternative Port of entry, utilising their Sharpness facility and Howard Tenens have reduced savings in transport by working closely with Palm and their customerís in relation to delivery times. Howard Tenens Boston retained their existing business distributing reels on behalf of OTOR after the work was competitively tendered. Discussions are still ongoing to bring product in from France by rail to further reduce operating costs. Three new replacement Mercedes Benz 2546, 6x2 tractor units have been on the road as of 1 June, these will be the first vehicles to enter the Howard Tenens fleet fitted with digital tachographs. Vehicles were supplied by H&L Garages of Boston. |
