| Howard Tenens Opens New Manchester Depot |
Howard Tenens is pleased to announce that we have recently opened a new site in Salford, Manchester. The depot has up to 75,000 sq ft of rail connected warehousing space.
It is an exciting opportunity for the Group and an important development. It is essential to have a presence in the North of the UK and so far the fledgling depot is pulling in new business and performing exceptionally under the careful management of our new General Manager for the North West, Paul Kee. The new depot is perfectly placed, being located just off the M62 with easy access to the majority of the other major roads around Manchester, namely the M62, M6, M56 and M60. The ability of the Manchester depot to cater for rail freight fits perfectly with Howard Tenens’ other operations around the country (our Barking facility also has a rail option in partnership with EWS), and furthers our multi-modal abilities. A rail carriage shunter is also based on site, meaning the operation runs as smoothly as possible. Already synergies are in place with our other operations bringing advantages to new and existing customers alike. ![]() The use of rail freight is also in keeping with our environmental policy and saves many road miles as well as making transportation of goods easier as the train runs straight into the warehouse making the throughput of goods seamless.
In addition to the rail interface opportunities the site also offers storage and road transport solutions to meet all customers’ needs. |
